“Magnanakaw ako kasi wala namang nakakita!”

“Kukupit ako, di naman mahahalata!”

“Ngayon lang ago mandurokot. Bukas, hindi na!”

These lines, these mentalities compromise our principle of honesty, and the things we cherish and value as children of God, and as citizens of the society.

WE FORM BY OUR EXAMPLES

We have heard the parable of the dishonest and deceiving steward. We heard that he was not true, and was not trustworthy to the task given him, and instead used this opportunity and the power to cheat, and deceive his master and his fellow servants. To whom do you think did the steward committed crime? The master? his fellow workers? himself? God?

Every time we cheat or live to decide and take advantage of others, we surely refuse communion with God, others, and commit a crime agains the future. When we cheat, when we lie, when we take advantage, we undermine the future implications of our actions and destroy the well-being of the future in the process. We undermine the future. We undermine the next generations ahead of us.

TO LIVE UPRIGHTLY IS THE PURPOSE OF OUR LIVES

In our second reading, we heard it was said that the purpose of our lives as members of a community is to live in peace, live with fear of the Lord, to live with dignity, and to live in truth. We are invited to:

  • Be righteous and live with dignity.

  • We have the duty to the truth and to the community we belong.

  • We have a duty to the future.

I believe that the societies we envy, the nations living in prosperity are fundamentally societies that lived uprightly as individual citizens and as a morally-oriented governments. It is living morally, living with values, with principles that promote human life, human dignity, human rights, equality and peace that makes these nations and communities great and prosperous.

WE WERE EN-TRUSTED

We were trusted and was entrusted by God of the things we have: our talents, our work, our abilities, our families, our life and our ministry. God trusted us to entrust us with.

Money and wealth are gifts to serve and maintain our needs, and not to enslave us and to make them gods. In the Church, we were entrusted with a mission and the Church continues to be faithful to that mission.

In the church, the amount we give are intended for different projects like the reconstruction of our church, sustenance and maintenance of different church services and ministries, and for social actions for the poor and the needy.

According to tie Magazine, the church remains as the biggest institution in the whole world leading in social action, as a charitable institution for the needy, the victims, and refugees. The church you belong to has a mission. We all have a mission. The church is able to fulfil her mission because of your help and assistance. You care contributing to noble and worthy cause. As a church, we are given daily the opportunity to help, opportunity of power to share and feed, and clothe the poor. We are a church for this purpose.

We were entrusted with. It is but right and just to be faithful, and true. Di ba po ganito pag pag-big? Sa relasyon at ugnayan ng mga magsing-irog? Pinagkatiwalaan ka. Kayat dapat Kang maging tapat. Ibinigay ang puso sa iyo. Kayat dapat Kang maging tapat.

Brothers and Sisters, we are invited to:

  • Live uprightly and live in peace and freedom.

  • Live uprightly so we can be examples and be inspiring.

  • Live uprightly so that the future will be well.

  • Live uprightly so that so that we can be given more.

  • Live uprightly because we are created with dignity.

  • Live uprightly because it is what we are here for, the qualification God has given us with.
